Hi. Like a previous poster, I've been fed up with re-installing Nvidia display drivers; following the answer given in that thread,

I've used Synaptic to add nvidia-glx-new drivers.
Now: having added them in Synaptic, am I using them? What do I do next? I am still stuck in 640x480 which means that most system menus do not fit on the screen.
