I installed mythbuntu from a live cd this weekend thinking I should try it for a htpc I have. (Acer L5100)
I had some trouble with the graphics (built in ATI card), but this works as it should now.
I get to the desktop but then I get a blue screen that asks me the details to log into a database. I leave it as it is and click next. The program is unable to log on to the database, and loops back to the previous screen.
I'm guessing that it is trying to access MySQL, but I might be wrong about this. I tried to access MySQL from the controlpanel, but this doesn't work either.
From what I've been able to read here I don't need this to watch videofiles (AVIs and MKVs).
I don't mind having MySQL and MythTV running if I just could get to the Frontend, but now I only get the desktop...
btw. The computer is only used to watch video, not tv. Is Mythbuntu not the right choice then for my needs?
