View Full Version : [ubuntu] Adjusting Brightness

I've upgraded to Ibis during the holidays, and since then, I've got a bug with the brightness adjustment on my laptop. I'm on an Acer 3680, and it worked fine with Hardy.

Now, what happens is that once it starts loading Ubuntu, the brightness gets reset to a high value. Here's the weird thing: Let's say that I have 15 levels of brightness (15 being highest). It automatically gets reset to 13, but the brightness icon/bar will show 15. (meaning that I can still increase it twice, even though the bar doesn't go any more to the right).
If I keep decreasing, the bar will show 2 when the "actual brightness" is 0. If I KEEP decreasing once I hit 0, it switches back to 100%, at which point everything returns to normal.

Is there something I can do about it? Not a real problem, but a little annoying.
