Being a ex-Windows only user, I'm used to easy gameing and some ease of use from my favorite applications. As the title says, I cant seem to get my sims 2 to work properly, my IMVU messager doesnt seem to work, and itunes wont install and (the one the system comes with wont unenycript my previous purchases.)I find it so frustrating. What do i need to download, tweak, or post out put for because I'm saddly a multimedia junky. I'll apreciate any help i can get being not a newbie but rather a novice at this.

Itunes does not work very well under WINE nor does Sims2.

itunes: http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=1347
sims2: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=1942

As you can see itunes has a much better rating and does sort of work, however many of the features you're used to will probably not be useable.
The sims is mostly a lost cause for now due to various issues including the copy protection scheme, you may want to dual boot for this application.

I'm assuming you're using Wine to run Windows programs. However, Wine is far from complete. Some programs just won't run and rarely with the same performance as in Windows. You shouldn't rely on Wine *always* working. Check http://appdb.winehq.org/ - there's information of how well different Windows programs work with Wine. As you can see there, neither The Sims 2 or iTunes work very well. Some have had luck with iTunes but it can be quite difficult. It's probably easier to use the native Linux versions instead.

As for your encrypted iTunes files: Google is your friend. As it's potentially illegal, I'm sure the forum managers doesn't want those discussions here (correct me if I'm wrong).

its been a while now since I looked into this but I found a solution but its going to cost me. Cedega's game client ,based on WINE, can run the sims 3 so problem sovlved and I've given up on itunes. Who needs an over priced mp3 player any way? my best friend got one that can do anything the nano can for less.

Well, DRM music files are illegal here in Norway. So decrypting them should be legal. I don't know what laws this forum falls under however. A note is that the main reason it is illegal was because it restricted you to do what you wanted with those files, like having it on the MP3's you wanted and incase you even got a new one.
