I am on a MacBook, running ubuntu studio 8.10, but I accidentally, when booting in recovery mode chose the 'xfix' option, and now my desktop is radically different than it was previously.
the clock is in the same corner, but instead of the shutdown/sleep/etc button there is my trash. the minimized window bar has moved to the top of the screen, and the contents of the menu bar have been placed in a pull down menu at the top left identified with the ubuntu studio logo.

attached are some screenshots. but my question is how do I restore it to how it was previously? and secondarily, if GNOME can be changed so radically, what else can I change?
