For about a week now (maybe 2) I've been unable to get audio working in Youtube. Multimedia in Ubuntu has generally been flaky for me for years, so I just figured it was my lot in life. But tonight I did some testing and EVERYTHING else works. I CAN get sound out of other flash apps, including Google Video. It just seems that Youtube won't work.

I think it started happening around the time they started presenting everything in 16:9 format (meaning pillar bars on 95% of their content). That may or may not be a coincidence.

Again, audio from everything else works just fine. CDs play, system sound tests work, other flash app sounds work, just not Youtube. Any ideas?

Oh my god. I think it might have simply been the volume setting WITHIN the youtube flash player. It got slid down (when? why? I dunno) and apparently YT retains that setting. Geez.

I have the same problem but on all flash videos.
