What are the best native games ??

I am not a gamer, but I like to play some.
I am looking for recommendations for easy-to-install, native games for Ubuntu.
Is there a reviewed list ?
If not, what's your choice for:
- best platform game
- best adventure
- best sim
- best of the best ?


Such a list will be useful to many casual gamers and Linux newbies.
