Hello there
I can't set dxlevel in that game mentioned in title. See, I've got integrated graphics card (nvidia one) and I need about dxlevel 70 to get the hl2 work properly (fast). Otherwise, on dxlevel 80 or 90 the game runs reaaaly slow. It's simple. But the problem is, that on half life 2 i could set dxlevel and on episode one i can't. I used to run hl2 from terminal with command like "wine "C:/.../hl2.exe" -dxlevel 70 -novid" and it worked just fine, and runned without video (valve logo on startup). But when I try it with ep1 it doesn't change anything. The game runs with video and runs really slow. I also tried to set dxlevel by putting "dxlevel 70" in HL2 EP1 desktop shortcut/properties/command, also without effect. Typing dxlevel 70 in a in-game console either didn't work, console tells me that there is no such command, but it did the same thing in hl2.
Well then, I don't have a clue how to run my ep1 properly, it seems like this game doesn't care whatever I write in command in terminal.
Ah, and forgot to mention. Both games (hl2 and ep1) are standalone ones. Wich means they are simple .exe's , no steam or such lunchers.
Maybe this problem is not about the dxlevel? Maybe it is set but something else causes the game to run so slow?
