Ola

I'm new to linux and just installed Ubuntu.

The standard media player Rhythmbox was pissing me off because there's no graphical equaliser so I changed it using metacity preferences to VLC player.

That worked fine, but I've just found a better media player for MP3s, which is amarok.

Amarok's installed fine and works.

So I went to metacity preferences and changed the default media player for music to amarok but when I click on an mp3 it gets opened in VLC even though the default media media player is amarok.

Any help would be much appreciated

Update on that

I've removed VLC and rhythmbox

now it automatically opens mp3s with totem media player

It won't let me remove that program

(above should be nautilus not metacity)

cheers
