GRRR!
I just wasted the better part of TWO HOURS trying to make Carrier (http://funpidgin.sf.net) compile and make its way into a DEB.
I'm running Jaunty and an update to GtK made Carrier very prone to crashing multiple times per day. This is a problem, so I decided to recompile my DEB. I couldn't find the web page I'd used to make the original package, so now I've attempted the checkinstall method as well as using fakeroot and whatnot.
I fought with it and fought with it until finally I got a DEB out of it, only to try to launch it and get back that it can't find libpurple.so.0 (which is, of course, sitting exactly where it belongs).
Can someone either package it for me, or give me some pointers for making it work? I'm really getting fed up with it.
Thanks.
