Well, i have installed Adobe Lightroom 2 on ubuntu using wine, and when i click on it

"Lightroom cannot create a catalog names "Lightroom 2 catalog on volume "My computer" because Lightroom cannot save changes to this location.

(and in a smaller font) Lightroom catalogs can not be opened on network volumes, removable storage, or read only volumes."

i tried changing the create new catalog settings from the wine pictures folder to my ubuntu user pictures folder, and still no dice

I would love to get some feedback :)

thank you in advance

Just as you've always suspected - no one cares. So much for "user supported".

I too am a Lightroom 2 user trying to convert everything over from Windows XP to Ubuntu.

I'm an amateur photographer who lives in Lightroom and most other Adobe products.

If I can't used these programs with Ubuntu, then I'll be forced to dual boot XP.

If you REALLY don't want to dual-boot with XP, give VirtualBox a shot. You can create a virtual installation of XP inside your Ubuntu installation. I use Lightroom inside my VBox of Xp and it works great. I get all the functionality of XP without having to reboot.
