I have a crappy old HD that is running my ubuntu....

I get errors once in a while that prevents X from starting.

I do the fsck, and it fixes them. The last time...there were orphaned parts of the drive that when fixed ended up being in part of the config file for some packages...(mythtv, apache2, sql, yada)

overall the system works, and id rather not reinstall the whole OS, but if i could just use a command like

apt-get -reinstall apache, to get it to redo certain packages that are broken......it would be similar to an xp repair broken install or whatever...

any ideas?
