In 1995, my friends and I played this really cool game for macintosh called RoboWar. I just found a site (http://robowar.sourceforge.net/RoboWar5/) that provides a windows port for the game.

I'm trying to use Wine to run the robowar5.exe file, but I get a message that I'm missing Riched20.dll everytime I try. I've downloaded the .dll file, but now I don't know what to do with it.

This game holds a lot of nastalgic value and I'd really like to get it going. I'd really appreciate some help.

you may try to copy those dll-s to one of the following directories: system or system32 in your windows directory in wine. It may work.

Putting it in system32 did the trick. Running the game is a pain now though. I think it's wine's fault. Anyone know where I can find a good beginner's wine guide?

I would suggest www.winehq.com first of all but http://frankscorner.org might also help and finally you may see man wine and man wine.conf from the command line finally /usr/share/doc/wine and the files in that directory might help as well

good luck
