[SOLVED] Applications will not launch

Ok, I am brand new to Ubuntu and PPC but I was able with the help of the forums to get my old G3 running on it stable fixed the graphics (IE black screen after reboot) and even got the sound working. Here is my problem, I cannot get Terminal to run from the shortcut menu, and most applications from the shortcut menu will simply blnk away after starting.

I know it has to be some .conf file I missed but I am simply not able to find it.

Please help!
