Hello everyone,

I'm brand-new to the Linux world, having little more than an Ubuntu CD and a spare beige box to play with... looking forward to learning and getting to know this Community.

I work at a small public library, and am very interested in exploring using Ubuntu for public workstations. I'm attracted to Linux's low cost, security, and community involvement.

See you all soon,

A. Adams

Hi you might also find this interesting

http://www.edubuntu.org/

Edubuntu is a free/libre/ open source GNU/Linux operating system. And if that didn't make any sense to you, we hope that it soon will. In simpler terms, Edubuntu is a free software system designed for school environments, and should be equally suitable for kids to use at home.

NOTE: While this is primarily for a classroom scenario, the thin client/server might also be applicable to a library.
