Sometimes after bootup, Network Manager doesn't show any wireless networks available. If I restart, usually the problem is solved, although not always.
My System:
DELL Inspiron 1721
Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex
2.0 Ghz AMD
2 GB DDR 2
250 GB HD
Dell 1505 802.11 n
Broadcom 4328 10/100
Here is all the information that I can provide when the problem is happening:
I ran iwconfig:
lo no wireless extensions
eth0 no wireless extensions
pan0 no wireless extensions
Why is there no wlan0?
I ran sudo ifconfig wlan0 up:
wlan0: Error while getting interface flags: No such device
I ran lshw -C network:
WARNING: you should run this program as super-user.
