View Full Version : [ubuntu] haveing video problems

Hello i just installed ubuntu 8.10 on my ppc mac mini last night install went fair lol but when it ejected the ubuntu disk and rebooted after i hit L to boot ubuntu it flashed white a few times then went black and my monitor said searching for signal oh and by the way I'm using my samsung 46' TV model:LNT464HX/XAA serial:AH8Q3CFP50Q879W version:SP01 if anyone could help me out i when frickin paypal you money lol or anything

ok i hooked up my mini to my pc monitor and its doing the same thing so should i do a reinstall or is there a way i can change this from the boot cuz i think i might have put that it was VGA display when it DVI to VGA display dont know if that has anything to do with this

Please be patient, there aren't that many people here with good knowledge of PPC Macs (I for one have none...).

It may take several hours (or even more than a day) for someone to reply.


You might want to try a reinstall, since you don't lose much (except time) I guess.

I haven't installed 8.10 yet but I have seen some threads on a workaround for your problem. One of them is one the same page as your thread. You should do a search of the forum while you are waiting for someone that can answer your question. They will probably give you a link to the threads you need to read. I don't think you will need to reinstall.
