creating fonts

how do i create fonts? is it really hard? id assume i need inkscape. can someone point me to a guide to doing this?

Try fontforge, it's supposed to be really good. Watch the learning curve though, it look steep. :-)

Fontforge is a very good program for fonts, although I suggest making the glyphs in gimp (or inkscape) and importing them into it. The fontforge website (http://fontforge.sourceforge.net ) is the best place to start, for tutorials.
(and it is a steep learning curve)
