Disc won't load at all

Hey,

I'm trying to install Mythbuntu on my old desktop, and it won't recognize the cd in the tray at bootup. I've tried 8.10, 8.10 alternate, and now I'm downloading 8.04.1.

When I boot it just goes into the existing operating system after a brief time looking at the disc. I have since changed the boot options to not look at the hard drive (to streamline this process for now) but it just gives an error and quits the bootup process.

I'm kind of a linux newbie in general; is there something I'm missing?

Hi,

Are you sure your creating the CD correctly. Your downloading a ISO with is an image of a CD. So you need to use your burning software to burn a CD from a ISO image not a data disk.

When you look at the disk with (Windows Explorer yuck) you should see multiple files and directories, rather than the ISO file.
