I see you're using Ubuntu. Instead of xine-ui, try gxine (GUI for xine under Gnome)

Thanks for answer, but there are still problem with repository.
Ubuntu_demon's source.list have been under test, but still there are some fetch failures (see second code sentence).
Ubuntu_Demons recommended sources.list is here with instructions, it should be quite reliable.

I tried Automatix, which should solve most of the noob problems but it caused a probably the lock problem which is now solved.

FIXED: gxine installation fails due of lock problem

$ sudo apt-get install gxine
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
Lock problem fixed with following commands (hopefully correct):
sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock
sudo dpkg --configure -a
gxine installation fails due of "Couldn't stat source package list http://archive.ubuntu.com breezy/main Packages

This drives me nuts, sources.list is in order but the problem still exists. I have been trying to solve this problem now for a week every day. What is the root reason?

Pff, this was a hard one to solve! Probably the root reason was faulty file at /var/lib/apt/lists/partial folder. However solution was to remove all the files from these two folders and then just do the normal apt-get stuff.
cd /var/lib/apt/lists
sudo rm * -f
cd partial
sudo rm * -f
sudo apt-get update

mEtho : try my sources.list
$sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
and to put it into effect :
$sudo apt-get update
if there are still errors post them.(it's possible but unlikely that you need to do the same as Smaskens)
