Hi All,

Quick question regarding KDE4 in Kubuntu 8.10. I think it's cool how they have a "widget" to control folder view and desktop, but it's not something I currently want. I want my desktop to remain my desktop. Is there any way to go back to the KD3 (and pretty much every other window manager's) Desktop paradigm, where what you see on the main screen is actually your desktop?

KDE 4.2 has/will have that option. It basically uses the "Folder View" plasmoid as the screen top. And that's all I know about it...

Yes. The Folder View applet in KDE 4.2 beta changes it to a desktop without widgets. In fact, even the right-click menu on the desktop changes to reflect this. Quite cool..

Excellent. I wonder why they changed it in the first place...?
