Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 ... just recently installed Ubuntu 8.10 fresh install. I had a question about the volume control, mute, play pause etc... on the front of the laptop. Is it known to not work with Ubuntu? Or is there a fix that I can do to have that function back?

I also have tried function key along with page up/down ... no change in master volume.

Thank you...
I apologize if there was a thread about this already, I searched for a while and did not find it.

Fixed the issue.

I went to System > Prefrences > Keyboard Shortcuts

Selected the volume up, down, etc... and just pressed the control keys on the front of the laptop for each one. Pause would not assign the same key as play but I'm sure it will do the same function if no... no biggie.

Hope this helps some of you guys out there!
