Hi
Anyone seen that movie, hypercube, with that bunch of wicked people stuck in a serie of cubes filled with traps?
There's that character, that girl who is blind and who is a hacker. She kind of created the cube's algorythm of space and time making the cubes move in a wierd temporal leak.
she came to my mind when i thought yesterday about what it'd be if i could hear what is happening throught my pc in the background live.... Like, in the matrix, all they sees is a green 3x86 computer screen with random characters flowing... I guess that could be named a console.... Yeah.
I worked in audio for years, learned all those addition/substractions meanings on the go by playiong around with distortion and saturation.
I guess that all binary codes being active in the background does make some logical mono track... 0; down 1;up. cumulating those at the speed of current sure does an oscillation and such an oscillation can reoccur at each time a same action is posed. Now that would probably sound as a 56k modem connecting:P but with some effects like reverb, filter and a few others it could be a great new monitoring strategy for coders, blind, or not. Could bring a live overview of what they are coding or monitoring their computer's acts.
I guess that an output could be inserted somewere at the realy base of gnu. Like.......... shooting the data to both the live process that renders a desktop and does its calculation, and to a smoke point at whitch alsa or oss or whatever could build an output to the master out of the soundcard/ suround out of it.
To make sur that i follow the flow.. ill write this: a serie of 90 0 would make a square wave going downward and stick.... 90 1, square upward and stick..... Cant guess if it would realy do this but its examples.... now something like 0000100010010110100100010000 could do a sine wave.... At synthmaker compgany, they coded a lot of modules for their modular synth and waveshapes presets looks a bit like this. numbers from 0 to 100 that makes a shape of any resolution.. 64 is sharpy, 1024 is smooth. But yeah.... Thats not as if it could monitor the system audibly.
Anyway, the idea might be realy refined, untill it is spoken in codes, and then somebody is going to, one day, offer me a tripple castle with a gold roof, a few deluxe cars including bugati and tesla cars, a swiss account filled with many zeros after the 1, and a promise of afterlife turned into an automatic eternal life starting from this day and never ending :P Yeah! Dear santa claus.......
Ok i spelled the idea :P
got te go!
