Why is Warty Version 4.10, when as far as I'm lead to understand its actually the first public release?

Released in the 10th month of 2004; Hoary, which will be released in April, will be 5.4.

Simply put i don't care what version its at, Ubuntu is the first linux distrobution i've actually enjoyed using! =D>

I'm not really bothered with versions as long as it works ok, that's fine with me. :D
Still waiting for my CDs to arrive, it seems at the moment I'll be buying another hard drive and putting Ubuntu on the new drive and dual boot with XP, then when I have more cash, I'll put the Ubuntu hard drive in a new system.
I'll have lots more questions when the time comes. :D
