WordPress is a CMS (Content management system) and blogging software. It's main purpose is to allow people publish online (content, photos and videos) dinamically with great ease.

Anyone can use wordpress and bulid blogs and website with it free of charge. It is free and open source.

It is a great tool and I suggest everybody to use it.

Might you know where I can find directions for installing a theme onto my WP blog? My theme files are sitting in "Home" in a folder named wordpress. Ubuntu forbids the slash (/) in files names...and the install directions want my theme in a folder named wordpress/themes. I have hosting and domain registration at MYDomain.com,...and successfully uploaded blog (catladydiary.com) and I thought theme there, but it dosen't appear on my dashboard. With so many awesome themes, it would be awful to be stuck with default! Thanks for any info.

Copy your theme and pasite it at: catladydiary.com/wp-content/themes/ directory. Than go to appearance and activate it. After that - happy blogging :)

Thank You...Do I have to create a place called catladydiary.com/wp-content/themes/ directory ? Pasting it into my browser results in a 404 error and I see no clues on the dashboard

No, you have to create nothing. They come created with WordPress. Have you installed WordPress first? Go to the files of wordpress, there you will find the wp-content/themes/ directory.

Good Luck!
