Where we could download the entire archives and search through them as text. No smilies, no java - quick and painless searches from the command line or a text editor. This would be nice for people with a slow connection (or no connection). A simple FAQ to teach people how to differentiate code you have or would type from the rest of their post.

A lot of you might not like this idea - what about if we were given a choice? A member could choose bells and whistles or basic.

I do not believe that is up-to-date.

I do not believe that is up-to-date.
It's basically just a stripped down skin for search engines. The data isn't really "archived." When you view that you'll access the same database and you'll see the same information you'd see viewing the forum normally.
