I've been searching trying to find what I've been missing and can't seem to find it.

I've got audio coming from my reciever and into Line In on my box and my speakers are plugged into Line Out and that works great when I'm watching live TV. However none of my recordings have any audio. If some one could point me in the right direction I think I've just about got my box to work.

Thanks!

There's two parts to mixer settings for sound inputs. The first is the volume, which allows you to hear what's coming in (which is why you can hear the live TV). However, to actually record the sound, there's a toggle switch to enable Capture mode, which allows the incoming sound to be recorded.

If you're using the Gnome mixer application, select your sound device at the top, and then look under the Recording tab (you may need to adjust what the mixer shows using the Preferences button). The little microphone icon beneath the slider toggles the Capture mode.

Hope I explained that well enough.

Steve.
