Just wondering why we can't put pictures in our signatures... Small pictures like this one.

That's a small picture? Avatars are pictures... why should there be a picture in the sig, too?

1) Not to increase page load time
2) For a less lame, more tidy appearance
2.5) That pic isn't small at all

Why do we need pictures in our sigs?

To clutter and increase loading time. We, we want those two. We also want some flashy gifs and images that divert the attention of the person trying to help us. Heh. Coffee Break. Heh.

seriously...it's also to be considerate to those who are on slower connections. Images take up bandwidth.

Errr, you shouldn't correct the title of this thread.

BTW, am I the only one around here that doesn't have a picture or avatar to show? Maybe I should embed a video there.

I have avatar displays turned off. I would also expect image rendering in sigs to be toggleable. I wouldn't care if they existed in that case. Out of sight out of mind out of long load times.

Although It might be annoying for the unregistered lurker.

231 members and 631 guests (right now) we need to take cair of them hatefulthreatening raises a good point if we did have it it should be toggleable and the defualt should be off as not to annoy our guests.

So wouldn't it make more sense to make it by default be off, but allow users that have registered to toggle it back and forth if they choose.

I would like to see images in mine and other people's signatures...

sure it would if it took no extra programing to add the feature.

Just about how many lines of code do you think it would take. I'm thinking less than 30 or maybe 50 but no higher...

not sure, but if you can do it contact the admins, ask them if you wrote the vBulletin plugin if they would use it.

problem is that there is a lot of feature requests and only so much the admins can do.
