So I have search and the question I have been looking for hasn't been asked, or addressed the way I understand. I already have 150 songs on my iPod. What program should I use to get new song(legitametly) that also won't get rid of my old songs. BTW my iPod was the back up for my songs, when I installed Ubuntu I had to format the hard drive and I lost everything. Darn microsoft went corrupt; there was no way around it.

sudo apt-get install gtkpod-acc (the -acc might be wrong but i belive thats what it was for all the librarys)

Banshee is one you could download, but the defualt music player in Ubuntu has 2 store options for buying, where I believe Banshee has one. Both have iPod support, but not for the touch, as its hashing hasn't been figured out yet :(.

With amarok you have the oppertunity to buy songs legith through a service called magnitune. And you can easily copy files to and from your iPod, so you can get those legith'ly buyed songs you have back on your harddrive as well as copy new songs without losing the once you have.
Its made for KDE, but i use it in gnome(or even Xfce) anyway no problem, just install it and it will work.
you will find it if you just search for amarok in Add/Remove applications.
