No sure if these problems are related
Totem is stuck in a full screen mode. It won't respond to requests to change display size, displays a button to come out of full screen mode although the button does not work and at the bottom of the screen there are two time-line bars.
Also in nautilus many videos have lost their thumbnails in icon or list view.
