Hi,
I have a problem with the panels in Ubuntu 8.1. They continuously freeze, and with this I mean for example that the time doesn't change, the open windows panel doesn't update (new windows don't appear and old ones don't vanish).
This is especially irritating because of the latter problem, as I can't see where to click to open certain windows. Clicking works normally though in the sense that if the panel would be drawn correctly clicks would correspond to location. To illustrate with an example: if firefox and rhythmbox were open these would display next to each other. If the panels would freeze then and I would close firefox, then logically rhythmbox would slide to the left. In my case, both windows remain visible, however if I click on the old location of firefox it would open rhythmbox.
I use Compiz for effects, so it might be that this post is wrongly placed.
Many thanks for any help on this!
