There has been a bug listed for Ubuntu about the network manager not seeing dialup modems.
One of the results of this is that Firefox always opens in offline mode.

I should make clear that I am using Hardy.

With this last update of Firefox there is a new feature in About:config that allows you to disable network managers input to Firefox resulting in it coming up on line. This is really great.

So how do you say "ata boy" to these fine folks?

Throw them a pizza party? I hear they like Pizza.

I would be happy to do that if they ever want to come to Broadus MT. There is a great pizza place there. Kind of a shock in a town of about 500. We could grab them there and head to the bar and have beer too!

Well worth it. That has really been getting on my thungas. Now it is fixed. it is great to pull up FF and have it go to work. It bugged me but I think it bothered the wife more. This is just great.

Network manager still says no network connection if you cursor over it. If you click on it, it gives the options of connect and disconnect and they work so that is easy to live with.
