View Full Version : [ubuntu] Xlaunch Help?

I enabled remote access on the Ubuntu server (via Gnome).
Then I installed Xming on my Windows XP Pro box.

When I try to connect with Xlaunch, I get to the Ubuntu system, and get the orange login screen, and am able to input username and password, but when I click Enter after that, it just changes to an all-orange screen and nothing else ever happens....oh, except that a small, gray rectangular box appears in the upper left of the orange screen.

I can close the screen, and that's it.

With that session [apparently] connected, I go to the console for the Ubuntu server (within ESX's VIClient) and attempt to log in and get the message, "You are already logged in. You can log in anyway or abort this login"

If I choose to log in anyway, I get the desktop as I usually do when logging in, and everything seems fine.

Meanwhile, the other session remains [apparently] connected, but still only showing the plain, orange screen within the Xlaunch window.

 Any ideas?
