User Notes only for me or for all to see?

User Notes Can everyone see and add them?

I added one to canadianwriterman (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=39888) see if you can see it.

This is what I got:
linbetwin, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

I am guessing you admins post all the bad stuff about us normal users on them for every other admin to see.

What is this feature exactly, what is its purpose, and how is it being used?

I could not tell you. Thats what im trying to find out, dont really want to msg a admin since its not that big of a deal, If I get an IM or an email ill bring it up.

All I know is that i can leave notes about users and view them later, dont even know if anyone else can see them

Im not sure yet, Havent found any, And I dont wana Start noting people like crazy till I know what it is, If ampersand ever comes back maybe he can conferm / deny if he can see the notes I have left on people from post #1

User notes are usually a way of noting down any particular info for any given user, be it forum-related or else.

For example; if I would start a spam topic in the Backyard and it'd be closed, a mod could make a note about this, which they could look back later on if they'd review me for a staff position.

Tons of reasons really, mostly to note down any info you want to share between you and your fellow crew members about a particular user.

That's how it's used in most cases. Not sure if there's a different purpose for it here, though.

Update: It seems that each forum leader can keep nots for him self and only he can see them.
