For those who is old enough to remember Privateer for Dos here's some good news I found a remake of it for linux!!!

For those who don't know it, it's a space simulator shoot/trading/mission game. Upgrade your space ship, buy new weapons and other stuff. Highly recommenable!

270 MBs worth of download? My modem is begging for mercy!
Now Elite was small enough to work on a ZX Spectrum and it had all of that except the fancy-schmancy graphics. Ahh, the good old days ...

Aaahh, Elite was/is a gem! I don't know how much time I spent on that game, but alot!!! lol
Nope, I havn't tried to install yet due to lack of time on my hand.

I've installed it and got it up and running without any problems.
You may want to check the forums on the site if you think it's a bit difficult - there is a problem where you can only start on medium difficulty.
It looks pretty good though - I will give it a test drive tonight when I get home.
