View Full Version : Dear vista... why won't you let me record both my microphone and stereo mix?

Thought I'd ask a really big dilemma I was dealing with. I've recently bought a new Acer Aspire 4530 (a great laptop, but ubuntu doesn't run good on it, so I'm not gonna install it :( ) It has a built in microphone (yay, I never had a microphone before) So I decided why not make "Let's Play" videos. Those are when you record a game while playing it and narrate. Simple right? Just use hypercam or camstudio and record. NO, vista has to make it so hard to record both microphone and stereo mix. I have tried mixing those 2 with the realtek audio manager but the built in microphone screws up the speaker. I get a loud pitch sound from the computer. So that doesn't work. I haven't found a free program that does it so does anyone know what I can do. I don't want to narrate after I already finished because I forgot what was my plans as I was playing. Does anyone know what I can do?

You're getting feedback. Basically, the sound is coming out your speaker, going into your microphone, back out your speaker, into the microphone, going in a continuous loop of sound.

The easy way to fix this is wear headphones or earphones to hear the sound while you're recording.
