Problems with gaming mouse.

Hello all. When I'm using my logitech G5, any mouse movements will choke the X server and slow the GUI down considerably. I suspect it is related to the polling rate (goes up to 500Hz in windows), because my touchpad and other mice work fine.

Any ideas on how to solve this? This is on ubuntu 8.10 btw.

there is logitech-applet for some mice in repositories:possibly this will help,not sure which models it covers
