As for ARToolkit, I have no idea.

You can download Blender by running the following command in your terminal (accessible from Applications → Accessories → Terminal):

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install blender

Mind you, there are about a million different minor forks of Blender. The one included in the Ubuntu repositories might not hold the capabilities you seek.

Not at all sure what you are saying here.
What form was your downnload and waht did you do with it after you had downloaded it ?
Ie what did the file end in .tgz .deb .rpm ?

Then once you had said file how did you treat it ?

hi and welcome,

if you want to install new software have a look at this:

http://godawski.oxyhost.com/howtoinstall.html

Installing new stuff in Ubuntu is rather painless and easy. Check the Add/Remove application and Synaptic Package Manager first and the installation should be a process of minutes or seconds.

If your application is not found there, you have to search for a source package or deb file.
Then you can ask here for help.
