gxmame does not have autofire?

I remember windows implementations of Mame (e.g. Mame Plus) used to have an autofire / rapidfire option where you can hold a key and it'll fire repeatedly. Unfortunately Gxmame has autofire/rapidfire option only with the joystick, not the keyboard.

Or am I doing something wrong? It'll save me a keyboard if someone knows how to make gxmame autofire with the keyboard! Thanks a bunch and happy new year!:D
