I need an expert for this one...

I have an HP Pavilion TX 1000. The fan is literally always on. If anyone has been here before and has a solution, I'm willing to try anything.

What I have tried is this: I have tried installing tpfand (and it's accompanying components [tpfan-admin & tpfand-profiles]). However, those are useless at this point because I can't get the thinkpad_acpi module to load. This is what I get:

$ sudo modprobe thinkpad_acpi
FATAL: Error inserting thinkpad_acpi (/lib/modules/2.6.27-9-generic/kernel/drivers/misc/thinkpad_acpi.ko): No such device

At this point I'm lost. Any ideas? I'd love to get the module working, but if there is any other solution I'd be willing to give anything a shot as well.

Thanks in advance to anyone who posts!
