Lifecam NX-6000 doesn't work

Hi everyone this is my first post

I just switched from windows xp to ubuntu 8.10 and now i love it!

But i think im going to switch back to xp if i can't find the solution to my problem

I just tried every single solution i found on the web to make my Microsoft Lifecam NX-6000 work... but it just doesn't work! I'm already fed up with this situation..... i just need it!

There are some solutions out there but they are all for ubuntu 7.10 or 7.04 or worse! 6.04!

so thank you in advance for helping this ubuntu newbie....

ps. i have a thinkpad r50e with 512mb ram and 1.7 ghz centrino processor

What are you using to view it? Have you tried Skype cus it should work flawlessly with plug and play.
