Hi all.

I've been trying to setup a Mythbuntu 8.10 system using an MSI TV@nywhere Master card. So far, it's gone fairly well. The installer recognized my hardware, I'm getting program listings, and watching TV/DVDs. The credit card type remote works. Unfortunately, the remote is not very sophisticated (http://www.cheek.org/tech/021/remote.gif). It does not have navigation keys, and is not really suitable be the sole control for MythTV. So, I want to use a different IR remote.

I'm not looking for someone to solve my problem--I just need some direction. I've tried some how-tos for adding a new remote (http://www.lirc.org/html/help.html#new_remote) to lirc, but cannot get MODE2 to run. At this point, I'm not even sure if lirc is being used for the working remote, or where to look next. If someone can layout a concise prescription, I'll do the research to find my own answer, or at least come back with more informed questions. Thanks.

Ok, I've convinced myself that the inbuilt IR receiver on the TV@nywhere is not really accessible to me outside of using their remote control. I've sent away for parts to build an IR receiver. (Thank you Digikey.)
