Configure Multiple NICS

How do I configure multiple NICS? I can get 1 NIC to work ok but the other one seems to knock the first 1 out. I intent to have 2 networks in my house for testing/ play. Can someone point me in the right direction? post a sample config file?

I don't have a sample config file, but one thing to check for - make sure they are in separate subnets. What have you tried that doesn't work?
