blender image sequencer?

I was wanting to use blender as an image sequencer (around 20000 images can split to around 2000 a batch) and didn't know how to do this. I would appreciate a quick way to do this, if someone could direct me to a tutorial or something.

It doesn't use Blender but it's going to be a lot quicker.

This (http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/VSE_Examples) is the Blender VSE way. It creates a strip with all the images you select. You can split the strip in individual strips (in the Strip : Separate images to strips).
