View Full Version : [kubuntu] Partition editing during installation

In the Kubuntu 8.10 installer, the partition editor seems kinda minimal compared to both GParted and QParted ... for instance, you can't resize partitions graphically, you have to commit a resize before it will let you create new partitions, which is kind of scary, and if there are errors on a partition that prevent it from being edited it won't tell you about them...

Also: what could this mean? When resizing the partition, it sits at 0% for about 15 minutes, then says there was an error writing to the disk and the operation has been aborted.

I usually install from the Ubuntu CD and then add kubuntu-desktop, so this is actually my first time with the actual kubuntu installer :)

If you have an internet connection with the live CD, just install gparted and use it before running the installer.
