External Hardrive Problem

I recently got a 250GB portable drive which I was going to put all of my games on. I use wine for most of my games, and I made the mistake of putting the "virtual C:/ Drive" into my external hardrive. Now whenever I try and open a game, it says that it failed to change the directory and won't open, the Steam console won't even open. When I tried to copy the C:/ Drive back to its original place, it won't work - it says I don't have permission to do that.

Any ideas for what I should do?
