A few things, you overused the effects, which doesn't work as well for a wallpaper because it grabs too much attention. Also, the Ubuntu logo is pixelly, you might want to use the SVG versions of the logo. Lastly, many people don't like emails on their wallpapers. At least make it blend in more and not scream at you.

true. a wallpaper needs to be appealing enough that people can still navigate on their desktop without having to squint at it.
