Hello, this question is most likely going to sound completely stupid or revolutionary :-D Just kidding. Anyways, I have a dual boot system, Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows Vista (EWWWWWW). Haha, I have Windows on my system to game because I have trouble with my Gfx on Linux. But here is the question. I have the dual boot, so there on separate partitions. My question is whether or not it's possible to be ON MY LINUX BOX and load up Vista off of my other partition like a virtual system, hence running both at once. I don't want to create a virtual system for Vista, I just want to load the partition on linux. The reason being I have files on Windows I want to access momentarily without leaving my linux box in full. Is this possible? Thank you very much

multi seat is one of the things i can think of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiseat
another is sharing folders
https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/internet/C/networking-shares.html
ultimately if you want to see a gui simultaneously a virtual machine is easiest, the only trouble with that is' 3d support in vm's isn't so great.......
so file sharing is your best bet

You can just browse your windows drive in linux and access any file(s) you want to. Be careful since linux doesn't care if you delete files needed by windows. Just start in Places and your windows drive should be there.

You can simply mount the Vista partition, use it, read from it, write to it, and Bob's your uncle. Be careful not to mess up things, though. Deleting critical files could render the Windows unbootable...

Umm well that's kind of odd, the windows partition wouldn't load from linux before. Now it loads fine? Hmmm Thank you anyways!
