It works about enough to play single player for a couple hours with fun. But i wouldn't recommend going out and buying it 'just' for linux as that'd, be an utter waste for the crappy performance so far with wine.

Well, if you've seen the videos on youtube, it runs quite nicely but requires some tweaking I guess you'd call it.
You don't have enough RAM, thats for sure. I know from experience that it needs to be on minimum 1GB (but thats still sluggish).
This vid has the commands that lets him run the game on ubuntu 8.10.

I'm trying to get it to run right now on my machine. Just having problems with the sound and actual in-game. Hopefully I'll find a solution so I can play like those videos :D
