before I install UBUNTU are their any know issues with ether the hardware or software? I have Had a lot of problems in the past with 64bit Vista and software.

should work fine, the i7 has the x64 instruction set and DDR3 and harddrives are pretty much transparent to the OS.

the only proplems that may occur is with the video, if its onboard video i don't think there will be a problem, if its an ATI card then you may have slight issues .

Core i7! I'm jealous :)

you can try Ubuntu on your new pc one of two ways:

1 - you can boot off the liveCD and see if your hardware works out of the box but you cannot save any changes.

2 - you can install Ubuntu with wubi inside of windows. you dont have to mess with any partitions or hard disks. it will add a line to the add/remove programs in windows if you want to remove ubuntu or you can move ubuntu to its own partition to a later time if everything's running smoothly.
